If you’ve been following our blog, you surely took notice to the great beer events and attractions we’ve reviewed. These events included the By the Bottle beer tasting event in Vancouver, The World Beer Festival in North Carolina and the Museum of Beer and Brewing’s lecture series in Milwaukee.
When you do as much traveling as we do, having a good travel agent is a must. Up until a few years ago we used a permanent travel agent from our neighborhood. She gave us great service and always provided the perfect solution at reasonable prices. But it was a bit of a hassle always running everything through her and having to depend on her for changes. Also, it was often difficult to understand all our options since she would basically always offer one or two choices for us to choose in terms of flights or hotels.
All that changed once we joined the new world and began booking our trips over the web. Suddenly a new world opened up before us. Using websites such as hotelreservations.com we are able to choose from hundreds of hotels, dozens of flight options and great choices on rental cars. We can now plan our trip exactly the way we want, choosing the flights that will bring us exactly on time wherever we want and staying at hotels literally across the street from almost any destination we are visiting.
Even with all these great options the booking our trips online offered us, we still felt a little bad leaving out dedicated travel agent that stuck with us for all these years. But when we realized that in addition to our new flexibility we are also saving a lot of money we decided it was the right thing to do. Our average cost of travel has gone down by over 20%.
You know what that means…. That’s right, we’ve got more left over for Beeeeeer!
