The great people of Boat Angel have created a very unusual charity organization that instead of raising money through direct cash donations have decided to accept boat donations from people who are willing to part with their boat for charity. Boat Angel then go about selling the boat and using the proceeds for various charities they support or allow the original boat owner to choose a charity of his own that he is interested in the money going to.
While it is not every day that someone wakes up and says “Maybe I’ll donate my boat today” but Boat Angel actually makes the process make sense. For one thing it is very easy as they take care of everything from picking the boat up, fixing it up if necessary and handling putting the boat on the market as well as completing the transaction. Donors are also entitled to a tax deduction for the actual price their boat brought in (even in cases where Boat Angel have fixed up the boat at their own expense).
