I feel kind of bad for my travel agent. Well, I guess it would be a bit wrong to still call her MY travel agent as I haven't booked a single flight or hotel with her for almost ten years. But that's just the point. You see, I travel a lot and used to work with her very frequently. After all, she gave me terrific, dedicated service for years. But at the end of the day, there is no changing progress and as the world changes, so does the way we travel and make our travel reservations. Nowadays I book everything exclusively online. It started out because of the prices with online reservation sites offering exclusive deals and great bargains. But to be honest, I now book all my flights and hotels online simply because of the convenience it provides. I no longer have to go through the whole process of passing on my preferences and schedule to my travel agent and then have her get back to me with various options to choose from. I get all the information of what's available right on screen including the rates for each option. But to really get a good deal you kind of have to shop around and compare offers from each site. Normally this can be a bit time consuming but I recently discovered the best way to find a cheap flight without having to type in the information at numerous sites. A cool option available at lowfares.com allows you to easily compare offers from up to 3 of the web's top travel sites. The offers are presented side by side for easy comparison. I really do hope my travel agent is doing well but I don't think I will be working with her again any time soon…
