If this generation of technology could be summarized in one word, it would be digital. Many devices have been transferred to digital formats including MP3 files, DVDs, digital cameras, digital photo frames, and even digital washing machines. Another thing that is going digital is radio. One would think that with all this advanced technology that we have such as portable DVD players, Tivo, and cable, there wouldn’t be a need for radio. Radio is one of the oldest forms of the media, but of course one cannot watch TV while they drive. That is why radio has been developed into much more than just FM and AM radio.
Digital radio is not satellite radio, but it is similar in that many more stations are offered through it. Through HD Radio, one can listen to many different exciting stations. There is even iTunes Tagging through this technology. High definition radio is the way to go today in terms of radio. There are always new radio stations that are being added as well.
